Text Above Person Preset DaVinci Resolve

In this tutorial I show you how to make a preset for tracking and displaying names above people and objects, that can be moving, by using DaVinci Resolve inside the Edit page. This is achieved by making a macro effect that you simply put onto the clips inside the edit page timeline. You will have all the settings available in the inspector tab that you enable during the macro creation step.

I go over the whole macro creation process for this particular effect just so you see what all can be done. Now I have to point out that it’s worth double and tripple checking the macro before you close the menu, because if you miss a setting – like I forgot to include the angle option – then you need to repeate the whole process. And trust me, you don’t want to be doing that if you have a lot of options to enable.

There is (currently) also some issue with the fusion overlay when using the tracker node, but this might be also an issue with other nodes. As you can see in the video the older effect that I used for testing purposes worked but the one I just created didn’t and it crashed DaVinci Resolve 3 times. However, it also started working by no obvious reason, so if you have the same issue just try the things I tried to get the effect working.
