2 Ways to Remove Green Screen in DaVinci Resolve

In this video I show you 2 quick and easy ways how to remove green screen in DaVinci Resolve 17. The easiest and quickest way is achieved in the Edit page, but the Edit page has some limitations when it comes to masking strange or unique shapes, like a angled table or closet, or just anything that doesn’t fit into a rectabgle or an ellipse.

The other way to remove the green screen is in the Color page, which is similar to the one in the Edit page, meaning is also fast and easy, but you have more control when applying custom shaped masks.

By combining the green screen removal and the crop tool in the edit page you can quickly achieve the animation that I’ve done in the intro and outro. To get the same result you need some kind of a background (solid color, image or video) on the lowest video track (i.e V1), the original green screen footage that is unchanged above the background video track (i.e V2), and the video with the removed green screen on top of the the unchanged video track (i.e V3).

I’ve used the Edit page for the intro and Color page for the outro, since the color page has an added benefit of using multiple masks, which I had to use to seperately mask out the left part of the screen at the right time.
