Circle Music Visualizer DaVinci Resolve

In this video I make an audio / music visualizer in DaVinci Resolve. I use Reactor and teh Audio Waveform plugin, link is below, simply follow the installation instructions and then follow the tutorial.

The first part of the video is making the base visualizer effect and you can leave it at that if you are fine with how it behaves. Un/luckily my OCD kicked in and I just had to figure out how to make the visualiser actually start at.. you know the start of the audio waveform. It turned out it was fairly simpel to do with a stretch node and 2 different transform nodes – one with the default value X = 0.5 and the other with a value of X = 1.

This makes it so that the time stretched part of the visualizer is displayed at the bottom and is delayed until the original waveform comes to the end. It’s hard to put into words, so just watch the video and you’ll see what I mean.

To follow the tutorial you need to install the Reactor library and then the Audio plugin from within Reactor.
